John Frieda Frizz-Ease Hair Serum (Extra Strength Formula) vs Pantene Split End Serum

John Frieda Frizz-Ease Serum
Pantene Split End Serum

I first bought the Pantene serum on a whim when I had first done my hair (Peruvian Weave) and the ends were quite rough so I just needed something to soften it up then I came across the John Frieda Serum after. I had initially thought that John Frieda would have been better on the hair since it is a highly recognised brand and being priced at £6.29 (Superdrug) I thought it would do the job. However, I found that the Pantene Serum was actually better at curing my rough ends than the John Frieda Serum but the John Frieda Serum does help tone down frizz. Overall, the Pantene Serum left my hair feeling so soft and shiny and for the price of £2.29 (Superdrug) it is soooo worth it!

How to Get Glowing Skin Using A Contour Kit

Diagram: How to Contour & Highlight

Contouring is not as scary as it seems and when used properly, it really does make a difference to the face and brings back/emphasises the natural dimensions of the face that we sometimes lose when we apply foundation. Any powder or liquid that is a bit darker than your skin tone can be used as a contour but my favourite contour so far is Sleek’s Contour Kit which I use in the colour dark. The kit provides a contour and a gold highlighting powder which I use on the bridge of my nose, the apples of my cheeks, my brow bone, my forehead and my chin (as the diagram shows). Whilst the contour adds definition by creating shadows, the highlighting powder adds definition to the points of the face that the natural light/sun would hit.

Tip: After I apply the highlight and contour I use a stippling or blending brush to blend it then apply blush to the apples of my cheeks. I then use a kabuki brush lightly all over my face to disperse the colour and create that glow.

Here's How It Came Out When I Did It

Tips: How to Minimise Pores

Good skin care is key especially for those like me who have oily skin because a lot of the times some oil can clog the skin and makes pores look even worse!

  1. NEVER sleep with make-up even if you are tired. It will only clog your pores
  2. Wash your face when you wake up and when you go to bed. Dirt can clog our pores throughout the day and even when we sleep on our pillows.
  3. Using cold water will help tighten the pores after washing it.
  4. Rub ice cubes on the pores for a few seconds. This will tighten the pores and therefore minimise its appearance.
  5. Use a scrub. (Because I have sensitive oily skin, I use ‘Simple’s Clear Skin Oil Balancing Exfoliating Wash’ or the Facial Scrub). Because I have sensitive skin ‘Simple’ is perfect for my skin and the clear skin range helps balance the oils in my face and minimise my pores.
  6. Use a toner. (I use ‘Simple’s Kind To Skin Pore Minimising Toning Cleanser’ which is specifically made to minimise the appearance of my pores)

Vamp Lifestyle!

Lol it seems that I've developed quite the habit of sleeping in the mornings and waking up in the afternoon. I've only been awake for about 2 hours which leaves me with little to do during the day yet I still sleep so late! I guess this is why I have such messed up sleeping patterns because as soon as school starts again, I have to get into the habit of sleeping early again...which could take a while!

Sad Times... Better Days Ahead

*Sigh* today (well Wednesday since I'm writing this at 2:25am) has been one of the saddest days of the year so far for me. I went to a funeral today and although it was sad it made me really think about my life and the people in it. I started to ask myself, when was the last time I told my loved one's how much I love and appreciate them? Because you never know when it can all be taken away from you as tomorrow is never guaranteed. So to everyone reading this (myself included), let go of grudges, live life to the fullest, love as hard as you can and live life with no regrets because life is wayyyy too short to worry about everything. So be free and enjoy life while you can, smile more and learn to appreciate even the little things in life :)

New Beginnings

Arghhhhh! So I just made a blog! I can't believe it but I'm excited too.
A while ago I would have NEVER had the confidence to do this but I'm actually finding this quite therapeutic. Since I've gathered up the courage to finally make a blog, I hope I'll soon be able to post video's on my Youtube page too so keep on following to see what my next move is. I'm hoping to blog about life (especially when I start Uni), Make-up (I don't claim to be an expert though!) and baking too :D
Here's to new beginnings!
